Fairhaven under attack
Posted on September 20, 2011 by Hekla Fairhaven
The third cycle of 2557 has seen a resurgence of Marauder activity on all lands, which has been quite distressing for homins. Liberty Lakes was recently attacked by scores of Marauders who call themselves the Cynics of Liberty. We were given short notice of their actions, as the warning came a mere Atys day before their appearance:
Tryker Citizens, your time is near!
Although you effectively stopped the convoy, I was still able to get an adequate amount of materials to the Cynics of Liberty. These fierce fighters, supported by my brave warriors, are ready! The sap will flow… Prepare yourselves for confrontation! I will be your executioner and this will be my trial run!
Akilia Ash Storm
Cynics first attacked Avendale, and so swift was their movement that we could only witness the mayhem when we teleported in. All of Avendale had been hit; no officer, trainer, trader or passerby was left standing. They were repelled eventually, but another host was soon reported to have hit Windermeer.
Homins on the lookout first spotted a large number of Cynics swimming fast towards Fairhaven from the North of Greenvale, Akilia Ash Storm leading them. Many homins from all of Atys converged to Fairhaven, and started to throw elemental spells from the docks of Windy Head as the Cynics passed by. To everymin’s amazement, these Marauders were able to counter-attack from the water itself, and did so even while moving! A fair number were taken down, but still a good host remained that landed on the beach just North of the main capital entrance. Citizens and homins were ready for them this time, though, and repelled the Cynics and Akilia their leader at the gates of Fairhaven.
Although the Karavan guards are present at the very gate of Fairhaven next to the Teleport, it is to be noted that they did not intervene, and that they were left unscathed. Clearly, they consider the increased Marauder activity to be be a concern only to hominity, and not to them.
In the aftermath of battle, it was noted that, curiously, E’Cauty Eoppie also seems to have been left unscathed in spite of battle raging all around him. He is being questioned by Lakeland authorities for possible charges of illicit dealings with the Cynics.
Other investigations are underway to identify those who killed Yubos in Avendale; Cynics themselves do not seem to attack fauna at all.

When Kinkoo isn’t terrorizing homins in Forbidden Depths, he runs his own business.
Ryzom: Future development projects
Posted on August 16, 2011 by Hekla Fairhaven
Marauders and Kitins are on the agenda for these coming months, and development to make it possible:
The next months on Ryzom will be full of surprises. Episode 3 of the Saga, which will run at least an entire year, just started including the resurgence of Marauders and an alarming increase of Kitin activity. But this roleplay revival is not the only surprise that we have in store for you. This coming year will also see gameplay and dev additions, integrated as the Saga progresses:
- Marauder city;
- New PVP zone;
- Faction events based on the Temple War;
- Kitins and Marauders invasions;
- Arrival of Gooified mobs and dynamic progression of the Goo;
- Development of Encyclopedia v2.
Those additions, some of which have been asked for a long time, are already planned and will be developed and implemented over the coming months.
I am curious about the Marauder City, which will hopefully be a bit more than another tribe camp. Time will tell whether it will be a purely event team facility, or linked to the Marauder faction, which any homin may obtain by developing horrible fame with each of Atys’ civilizations.
Karavan Triumph against the Kami
Posted on August 4, 2011 by Hechicera
It’s been a great week for Aeden Artisans and the Karavan. AA declared on Fearing Fen Farm, a ql 200 OP in the Forest, that was being held by a Kami guild. After AA and its allies won 24/24 rounds in the attack phase, the Kami gave up the OP and did not attend for the defense phase.
Next, AA supported Karavan allies Grave of the Fireflies, who declared on Zo-Kian, a ql 250 OP in the Jungle. The Karavan came out in superior numbers, and despite the strength of the guards managed to take 11 rounds. We will continue to fight for this OP Saturday, August 6th at 01:00 GMT at the Maiden Grove TP. We hope to see you there!
Loria Stronghold Returns to Aeden Artisans!
Posted on July 21, 2011 by Hechicera
After four years of being in the hands of the Kami and then under the protection of our Karavan allies, I’m thrilled to be able to say that Loria Stronghold is once more held by Aeden Artisans! Our most sincere thanks go to Guardians of Jena who offered us the OP, and to our Karavan allies who helped us take it back!
Hop on!

One partially undocumented feature of Ryzom’s latest patch is the re-activation of unsubscribed accounts for a limited time. Accounts have been made active again until March 23rd.

Today was announced that Ryzom goes Free to Play for toons up to level 125. Let’s all hope that this change from the 3-weeks model to a level cap will enable new players to have time to grow and to learn to be fond of the Bark.
