How I came to Mainland

It was all very peaceful on Silan. In those days I only had heard rumors of the Mainland, of its vastness, and its wars. It seemed a land so remote, and hostile, that travelling there appeared a daunting task to undertake by oneself. And so I waited for my two little sisters, Mekah and Myrn, to grow up strong enough, so we could, one day, make the trip together.

Both Mekah and I were cautious to prepare ourselves properly, and complete all the training, and encouraged our little sister to do so. But one fine day, the young and reckless one decided to go to Mainland by herself, even though her best skills must have been in the thirties… Moreover, she did not know anymin there. For a little while, us three sisters kept telepathic connections, to keep her company in this vast and hostile land. Most of the time, she was digging all alone around Fairhaven, and although she is an independent-minded Hominette, we feared she would become tired and bored.

Both Mekah and myself dearly wished to join her as soon as possible, but we were both cautious to improve our skills as best we could, to make the change of climate and culture bearable. And so we kept foraging and crafting, and finished the missions we had wowed to complete. My harvesting level was already honorable (but far ahead of most of the others), when Mekah, who was the most patient of the three and willing to train everything up to 50 on Silan, suddenly decided to go as well, soon after fighting the Goo-infected Frippos. She tugged on my sleeve just as I was embarking on a round of crafting, made me visit Chiang the Strong one last time, then off to the Karavan enclave and into the great unknown, to surprise our dear little sister…

The sand! The brightness! The Tryker City! Fairhaven! Its piers and welcomers, the ugly Karavan teleport contraption near the entrance, the many Homins, most of them Trykers, the windmills! Mekah and I ran around for a while, until there, by the Packers, talking to the Stable boy, stood Myrn. We tossed rice at her and made merry. I marveled, for she looked as though she had grown a little in size…

And we all went digging…
