Pyr: confidence eroding

Unrest in the Fyros population seems to be continuing. I would not be surprised if the Akenak councils were replaced soon, especially since it now seems a caravan has been lost and needs to be rescued

Patriots and Friends of the Burning Desert!

The akenak are in need of help in retrieving a lost trade convoy. Warriors and those familiar with the Desert regions are needed in this urgent task. A gathering has been called at the Agora in Pyr at 4h, Nivia 30th of the 1st AC of 2547, and at 0h, Winderly 6th of the 2nd AC of 2547. The akenak will give further details at that time*.

The Empire thanks you for your assistance.

As expected, the events turned into an investigation of the reasons for the disappearance of the convoy. Originally split into two opposing groups, those faithful to the Patriots of Pyr and those questioning the actions of the Akenak councils, the two ended up reconvening and agreeing, in light of the (as yet not publicly disclosed) evidence, that the Akenak councils were corrupt. Senator Dios has vowed to bring the matter before the senate, and to motion the present Akenak council members be dismissed, and replaced.

A raw log of the event is available here.

And it seems Senator Dios is moving forward quickly. Pythus Aedon reports with this statement:

I know the appearance is there, that the Akenak have not been meeting their responsibilities to the citizens. I know that Senator Dios is ambitious, very. I embrace the Pillars and see to my duties, thankful that I am not yet part of these decisions. That may change soon, “the dagger” is the topic of choice in the streets and I overheard citizens talking in hushed tones about a secret meeting. For now, we are on double duty, patrolling the streets.

    What a bunch of fools.

I guess it will take the streets running red before anyone wakes up.
