Who are the Karavan?
"Gowned in black, their close fitting apparel gives the only insight to an individual sentinel, and that only shows they have gender. All other information remains cloistered within their pitch-dark garb. Covered in generated light, they stand, silent sentinels, never far, always there, seeing everything."
-from the Tales of Valor
The Karavan predate Atys and Homins. From space they witnessed the struggle between Jena and the Dragon and the effects of the Green Rising. Jena, the Mother of Creation, assigned the travelers to watch over the newly born Homins and to establish the races throughout the planet so that they could live in harmony and a take a role in the planets conservation. It was the Karavan who taught Homins the technology and science needed to build/rebuild their now destroyed civilizations.
The Karavan are present throughout Atys, there has been no recorded instance of any region ever being discovered that did not show an existing Karavan presence. The Karavan are present in the oldest histories and myths of Atys serving as disciples of Jena.
The Karavan believe that the Dragon will rise again and destroy Atys. Those remaining faithful to Jena and residing on the surface shall be rescued and brought to a new world of plenty.

Who are the Kami?
The Kami as we know them today are most likely very new to Atys. There is no mention of the Kami in any of the histories or Myths prior to the great swarming. Their appearance in history occurs in 2483 when Hoi-Cho institutes a week of fasting in remembrance of the dead and the years they were bereft of Kami enlightenment (this is wrong and I will get around to editing it later). This event predates the first appearance of Ma-Duk, the Lord of the Kami's and master of the Kami collective Mind. There are some mentions of the Kami fighting the Kitin during the swarming, but no details and appear to be edits and not the original history.
The Kami are capable of taking on various forms and according to Tryker tradition they are shape shifters. They are self professed protectors of the plant kingdom and will use violence to protect resources beyond a limit they feel will damage the planet.
They are creatures of magic. They are capable of affecting the Homin mind, when they first appeared to Homins, Homins could lose consciousness for many days just by being near a Kami. There are also tales of Kami possession.
The Kami are of one mind, led by their God, Ma-Duk. They strive to bring all Homins into this collective mind.

Who is Jena?
Jena is the Goddess of Light, the mother of Creation. It was she who forced the Dragon into the depths of Atys, freed Homins and ignited the Greening.
Jena is mentioned in the oldest known texts as the God of Hominity and the Karavan. The Kami originally worshiped her as the Supreme Spirit until the rise of Ma-Duk about 50 Jena Years ago. She is depicted as the dark-haired woman that appears occasionally throughout the Ryzom website.

Who is Ma-Duk?
Ma-Duk first appears in history in the year 2483 shortly after Homins resurface from the prime roots sanctuaries approximately 70 years ago. Ma-Duk is first described as the "Lord of the Kami" during his encounters with Hoi-Cho, later he becomes an entity tied directly to the Kami. He is now portrayed as the will controlling the Kami collective making all Kami actions divine in nature.
